Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform air-to-fuel ratio control by installing in the internal combustion engine an auxiliary air intake path which introduces air into the air in path, and by installing in this auxiliary path an electromagnetic valve to be feedback- controlled by means of signals from an oxygen sensor.
CONSTITUTION: A carburetor 7 and a combustion chamber 4 in the cylinder 1 are communicated with each other through the main air inlet path 6, and an auxiliary air intake path 16 is juxtaposed to the main path 6. One end of this auxiliary path 16 is connected to an air cleaner 12, and the other end thereof opens in the main path 6 near an air intake valve 14, toward the combustion chamber 4. Besides, a control nuit 23 is provided in the auxiliary path 16, together with a control valve 18, in order to receive signals from an oxygen sensor 24 arranged on the exhaust air path 13, and opening and closing control of the control valve 18 is performed by this unit 23.
