Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve output power of an engine and reduce its fuel consumption in the internal combustion engine with a high compression ratio, by giving a retard angle to the ignition timing at occurrence of knocking action further providing a heating device in an air intake device.
CONSTITUTION: To an air intake pipe 20 of an air cleaner 1, a warmed air suction passage 19 is connected through a selector valve 24 simultaneously its point end is opened to a heat cover 18 provided on an exhaust manifold 4. Then the selector valve 24 is opened at not higher than fixed temperature by an actuator 27 receiving a signal from a temperature sensor 26. Further a signal of a knocking detector 17 provided in an engine 10 is input to a distributor 5 thus the ignition timing is retarded in accordance with a knocking state by driving a delay circuit 15.
