Abstract
PURPOSE: To form a coating layer on the inner surface of a mold and to seal a clearance in the mold so as to prevent the mold from occurrence of burr and to make the casting surface beautiful and to improve the productivity, by injecting slurry into the mold and then drying the slurry after a certain time, then, excessive slurry is removed.
CONSTITUTION: A slurry 6 mainly composed of a refractory material and a plastic inorganic matter is injected into assembled top and bottom molds 1 and 2 through a sprue 7. When the condition is left as it is for a while, the moisture contained in the slurry is absorbed into molds 1 and 2, and a hardened coating layer 8 is formed on the inner wall of the molds. The layer completely seals the joint between molds 1 and 2 by packing the joint with the material, and a smooth surface is formed by coating the inner surface of mold. Then, the mold is tilted and excessive slurry 6 is discharged and are dried by means of a heating furnace or a hot air, then a coating layer 9 of hard, with no crack, and is formed into one body with the mold is obtained.
