Abstract

PURPOSE: To quickly perform pipe making commencement after rolls are exchanged, by standing outer housings against the advancing direction of pipes and installing an inner housing which can move along the direction orthogonal to the advancing direction of pipes through the outer housings, and then installing required rolls.

CONSTITUTION: A pair of left and right outer housings 53a and 53b having a housing wind are standed on a common bed 51. An inner housing 65 is installed in the outer housings 53a and 53b so that it may closely contact with them, and a wheel 66 is fitted to the lower part of the inner housing 65 so that the inner housing 65 moves in the direction orthogonal to the advancing direction of pipes. A lower roll box 73 which supports a horizontal roll shaft 74 freely rotatably is installed to the inner housing 65 so that the box 73 slides in the upward direction, and a lower roll 75 is fixed to the lower roll shaft 74. Moreover, an upper roll box 89 which can slide in the vertical direction is installed and an upper roll shaft 90 on which a horizontal upper roll 91 is fixed, is fitted freely turnably to the upper roll box 89.
