Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous photographing owing to malfunction when a strobe device other than an exclusive auto strobe device is mounted by making a flash emitting thyristor conductable only when the mounting of the exclusive strobe device is detected. CONSTITUTION:When a strobe device other than an exclusive auto strobe device is mounted to a camera, a detecting circuit 94 is not energized, and a transistor 98 is nonconducting. Therefore, when auto mode is set by opening a changeover switch 80, the output end of a NAND 90 goes to a high level via a NAND gate 86, and a thyristor 108 for emission of a flash tube does not conduct, thus ordinary photographing by natural light is carried out and the erroneous photographing owing to a tuning miss of the strobe and the shutter is prevented. If in this case a prescribed time such as 1/60 second is set, an FF2 is reset via a counter 18, and the output of the gate 90 inverts, whereby flash photography is accomplished.
