Abstract

PURPOSE:To arbitrarily change the diameter of video element, by combining a light emitting diode array and a light collective phototransmission array, and displacing either one of the arrays slightly. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting diode array 4 is constituted by arranging a number of light emitting diode 5. An electrostrictive element 7 is inserted betwwen an array support 6a and the array 4 and fixed. Through the image forming operation of a collective phototransmitter 3, light is formed on the surface of a photosensing drum 1 to draw fine dots. This dot diameter is changed by chaning the distance between the diodes 5 and the body 3 and the diode array 4 is displaced slightly toward the reciprocating direction to the drum 1 with the element 7. Thus, the dot diameter, i.e. video element diameter can be changed arbitrarily by adjusting a voltage applied to the element 7.
