Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily produce the foam inscribed on the face, by applying a specified ink onto and penerrating it into a part of a synthetic resin foam, and then heating the treated foam to depress an ink-unapplied part.
CONSTITUTION: An ink (composition), which contains as a vehicle a synthetic resin having a function to raise the melting temperature of a synthetic resin foam, which can penetrate into the foam without dissolving (or swelling) it, and excellent in quick drying property is used. For instance, the unfoamed sheet of a composition comprising the mixture of a polyvinyl chloride resin (preferably a paste resin), a foaming agent, an additive, etc. is expanded to form a foamed article. Thereafter, an ink hving the aforesaid properties, comprising a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, methanol, water, pigment, etc., is applied onto the desired surface part of the foamed article, and the ink-applied article is heated at the melting temperaure of the foam. As a result, an ink-unapplied part is heat contracted and depressed. Thus, a rugged pattern is formed.
