Abstract

PURPOSE:To remarkably improve the degree of freedom in the deisgn of a semiconductor device with preferable current characteristic by connecting a mounting external lead mounted with electrically insulating adhesive to an electrode of a semiconductor element via a connecting conductor. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor element 3 is mounted to the end of an external lead 1a for mounting a leadframe in the state to be electrically insulated with insulating adhesive. One electrode on the surface of the element 3 is connected to the lead 1a with a connecting gold wire 4. The other electrode on the surface of the semiconductor element 3 is connected to an electrode leading external lead 1b using the wire 4, and the leads 1a, 1b are integrated at the ends with sealing resin 5. The electrode is not necessary to be removed from the back surface of the element, and the degree of freedom of design can be increased. Since gold wire is used for connection, it can prevent the deterioration of the current characteristic.
