Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable reliable measurement of the displacement of a disc by arranging two or more equal-area electrodes on the radius vector of a turntable, detecting thereby a change in electrostatic capacitance simultaneously, taking the difference in detection, and thereby eliminating an error caused by the plane vibration of the turntable. CONSTITUTION:A disc 3 is set on a turntable 4 and a reference electrode 1 is arranged at the outer-peripheral part of the disc 3, while a measuring electrode 2 having an area equal to that of the electrode 1 is arranged at a part to be measured of the disc. The turntable 4 is rotated by a motor 8, a change in electrostatic capacitance is measured, and a difference component is taken out by a differential unit 5, transduced into a voltage by a capacitance-voltage transducing circuit 6 and displayed in a recorder 7. Accordingly, an error due to the plane vibration of the turntable is eliminated and thus the amount of displacement of the disc is measured with reliability.
