Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a lead acid battery with high volume efficiency, by restricting both the specific gravity of H2SO4 poured into the battery, and the H2SO4 concentration during the last stage of the discharge. CONSTITUTION:The dischargable capacity of an assembled element should be about 2Ah per 2hr under the existence of a large amount of an sulfuric acid solution with a specific gravity of 1.28. The electrode plates of the assembled element are stacked with spacings of 1.7mm., in which mats made of a nonwoven glass fiber fabric and having a porosity of around 85% are inserted. After that, 14-24cc of H2SO4 with a specific gravity of 1.26-1.40 is poured, thereby a sealed battery being constituted.
