Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb thermal expansion and shrinkage generated in a mold body and to prevent the thermal fatigue of a mold for continuous casting by interposing O-rings and belleville springs to the lock bolts that lock and fix back plates and the mold body. CONSTITUTION:Through-holes 7 of the sizes at which lock bolts 5 can be inserted therein and moved laterally are formed to back plates 1 mmounting a mold body 2, and belleville springs 11 are interposed between the bolts 5 and O-ring holders 10. If the body 2 expands thermally, the bolts 5 are pulled to compress the springs 11, by which the thermal expansion of the body 2 is relieved. If the body 2 contracts, the bolts 5 are projected outward, but the springs 11 repulse elastically as much as the bolts project whereby the tightening forces of the bolts are maintained always contstant and the thermal expansion and shrinkage occurring in the body 2 are absorbed.
