Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical cable where any tensile force does not operate at all even if the tensile force is applied to the cable, by arranging the optical fiber in contact with the internal wall surface of the cable while the optical fiber is wound spirally. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 1 is wound spirally around the internal wall of the tube 4 of a cable 5 in contact. Even if tensile force is applied to the cable 5, the optical fiber 1 only increases in spiral pitch and the tensile force does not operate on it at all. When the cable 5 has a tension member 2, reels 11 wound with optical fibers 1 are placed in a gauge 10, which is rotated as shown by an arrow to wind the fibers 1 around a spindle 51 alternately and gently. A pipe making device 41 arranges the optical fiber through the ultrasonic oscillation of the oscillation source 10 without applying tensile force. The optical fibers 1 holds safety because no tensile force is received from the cable 5.
