Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the yield of a gas0discharge display device by providing the lead terminals of paired electrodes on one side of an electrode supporting base plate by devising the structure of the lead terminals. CONSTITUTION:A display device includes a combinational electrode base plate 32 used as a back urface base plate, a cover base plate 38 and a drive controlling circuit. A display panel 80 consists of a combinational electrode base plate 82 and a transparent cover base plate 88. small electrode supporting base plates 321-326 have a number of X-electrodes (32X) extending in the X-direction and a number of Y-electrodew (32Y) extending in the Y-direction. The X-electrodes (32X) and the Y-electrodes (32Y) of the base plates 321, 323, 324 and 326 are connected to the drive controlling circuit by means of lead terminals provided on two different sides of each of the plates 321, 323, 324 and 326. However, since three sides of each of the small electrode supporting base plates 322 and 325 are adjacent to other electrode supporting base plates, the lead terminals for the X-electrodes (32X) and the Y-electrodes (32Y) of each of the plates 322 and 325 are provided on the same side.
