PURPOSE:To weaken the electrostatic attraction of a developer to the potential of a latent image on a dielectric and to prolong the repetitive lives of a blade and the dielectric by forming protrusion on the surface of a perfectly round developer composed of a magnetic body, a resin and an electrically conducting agent. CONSTITUTION:Protrusions 2 composed of a resin and an electrically conducting agent are formed on the surface of a perfectly round developer 1 composed of a magnetic body, a resin and an electrically conducting agent. The magnetic body is composed of fine powder of an iron compound such as tri-iron tetroxide or di-iron trioxide, a composite body of the iron compound with other metal, a metal such as Fe, Ni, Co or Mn, or a compound thereof. The resin of the developer is a thermosetting resin such as melamine resin, epoxy resin or urethane resin. As the electrically conducting agent, fine carbon powder is used.
