Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a cleaning agent for ion exchange resins of high cleaning powder by dissolving a specific amt. of thiourea dioxide in salt water.
CONSTITUTION: Ion exchange resins which are contaminated by the oxide of iron stuck on the surface and are decreased of power upon long-term use are cleaned to be removed of the stuck oxide of iron. Here, an aq. soln. dissolved with 1W3% thiourea dioxide or an aq. soln. of salt water is used as a cleaning agent. Or further the ion exchange resins are cleaned by using a soln. dissolved with 1% disodium nitrilotriacetate as a chelating agent. This cleaning agent does not emit malodors, has no corrosive effect to iron and steel parts and has excellent cleaning power.
