PURPOSE:To enable a program tracing from an arbitrary trigger point by sequentially selecting a plurality of trigger points comparing it with an address of a program, and storing the address to a memory when a desired number of times is coincident. CONSTITUTION:Trigger points TP1-TPn of a trigger point set section 60 are set to desired addresses respectively, and a trigger point number indicating from which trigger point the tracing is to be started is given to an operating section 8 and a debug objective device 1 is started. When the address of the program on a bus 2 from the device 1 is coincident with the TP1 selected at a selection circuit 80, a comparison circuit 4 gives a coicident signal to a counter 71 to incarry the count value by one. The count value is compared with the designated trigger point number, and when in dissidence, the circuit 80 selects the next trigger point with the instruction from the comparison circuit 72, and this is repeated by the designated number. When the addresses are coincident, the circuit 72 instructs write to a memory 5, the address of the program is stored in the memory 5 and the content is displayed on a display section 9 for tracing.
