Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a non-image part from dirt and find resolution with high image strength by respectively applying DC and AC voltage to a toner holding surface coated with an insulating thin layer and a glid arragned close to the toner holding surface. CONSTITUTION:A latent image holding surface 4 is like a drum and a toner holding member 1 consists of a roller and is coated with an insulating thin layer 11 on its surface. A glid 2 is located between the latent image holding surface 4 and the toner holding member 1. An Ac power source 3 and a DC power source 5 apply voltage to the toner holding member 1 and a DC power source 6 and an AC power source 7 apply voltage to the glid 2. The AC power source 7 promotes the toner to sputter from the surface of the glid 2 to the latent image holding surface 4 and the DC power source 6 prevents the toner from being adhered to a non-image part. The DC power source 5 is the one for determining the fundamental relation of electric potential between the toner holding member 1 coated with the insulating thin layer 11 and the glid 2. Thus, the non-image part is prevented from dirt and resolution with high image strength can be found.
