PURPOSE:To perform the recording which is superior in transfer of recorded pictures and has a high resolving power without the dirt of the background, by holding a conductive toner in the shape like a layer by the attracting force of a donor member which is constituted by providing a conductive silicone rubber layer on a conductive base material. CONSTITUTION:A donor member 1 is constituted by providing a layer 11 of a conductive rubber on a conductive base material 10, and a conductive toner T supplied from a toner supply device 2 is attracted onto the silicon rubber layer 11 by the attracting force of the silicone rubber 11. A doctor blade 21 controls the quantity of the attracted toner T to make the toner into the shape like a layer. A recording sheet S is carried in the direction of a arrow while rotating the donor member 1 in the direction of an arrow, and a picture signal is applied to a recording electrode 3, and the toner T is transferred to the surface of the recording sheet S, thus obtaining a recorded picture. Since the toner T can be nonmagnetic, the background is not dirty, and recorded pictures superior in transfer and having a high resolving power are obtained.
