Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain renewing a seal ring or a packing in one valve disk side while the other valve disk side is exposed to pressurized fluid by providing to each an upstream chamber and down stream chamber of a valve body with a valve disk which can shut off the fluid flow by being pressed to a valve seat independently. CONSTITUTION:Handles 21 and 22 are attached to the ends of opening and closing rods 19 and 20 provided valve disks 17 and 18 at the other ends. Rotation of the handles 21 and 22 causes the valve disks 17 and 18 to move for opening or closing a valve body 1. When, for example, the valve disk 17 fails to shut off the flow properly due to leakage caused by the wear of a seal ring 23, the auxiliary valve disk 18 in the upper stream side is pressed to a valve seat 6 to shut off the flow, a tightening bolt 13 is removed, and then the valve disk 17 is removed from the valve body 1 in order to inspect or renew the seal ring 23.
