Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce engine loads during acceleration or while running on an expressway by detecting the number of engine revolutions, the suction manifold negative pressure, and the torque converter oil pressure and reducting the capacity of a compressor when the engine loads exceed a preset value. CONSTITUTION:A detector 8 detecting the number of revolutions of an engine 1, the negative pressure of a suction manifold 1a, and the oil pressure of a torque converter 1b, etc. and a control unit 10 issuing commands for reducing the capacity to a capacity transfer mechanism 9 of a compressor 4 when the detected number of revolutions exceed a preset number of revolutions are provided. Therefore, when the compressor is 100 percent operating, if the number of revolutions exceed a preset value by stepping on an accelerator, command signals for reducing the capacity are issued from the control unit 10 so as to close a solenoid valve 69 and open a solenoid valve 71, therefore, the suction pressure is applied to the rear side of a spool 59 to open a discharge valve 56 and release a discharge port 52, the rear side is thus stopped operating and the compressor is transferred to a 50 percent operation. Accordingly, during acceleration the acceleration can be easily performed by reducing the engine loads by half, and also the car can travel smoothly at a high speed.
