Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease sectional area of a passage and reduce a space for setting, by providing a bypass passage of smaller sectional area than of an intake passage to a cooler, opening and closing only said bypass passage through a valve, opening said valve at low load operations of an engine and cloing said valve at high load operations of the engine. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust turbine 4 in a supercharger 3 is set on the way of an exhaust passage 2 in an engine main unit 1, and a compressor 5 is driven by said exhaust turbine 4 to supercharge and feed air from an intake duct 6 to an intake passage 7, then the air is fed to the engine main unit 1 through a cooler 8 and throttle valve 9. In the above device, a passage 12, bypassing the cooler 8, is further provided to the intake passage 7, and sectional area of said passage 12 is formed smaller than sectioal area of the intake passage 7. Then an open- close valve 13 is set on the way of the bypass passge 12, and controlled by a control unit 15 on the basis of a detection signal of a temperature sensor 14, then closed at high load operation of an engine, further opened at low load operation of the engine.
