Abstract

PURPOSE:To clear chips adhered from workpiece by a method wherein the workpiece is rocked in an operatorless system. CONSTITUTION:The workpiece W is carried in on a chain conveyer 1 and positioned by four positioning pins 10 moving vertically by means of a cylinder 11 and, after that, sent onto a chain conveyer 13. Next, the workpiece W is sent into a cage 3 while being guided by guide rollers 14 and clamped by means of a clamping device 20. Rails 29 are provided along the outer peripheries of the cage 3 so as to be rockingly supported by means of rollers 27 and 28. A roller chain is laid over the outer periphery of the cage 3 and driven with a motor 24. The chips adhered to the workpiece W are cleared by the rocking motion of the cage 3 and collected by a chip guide plate arranged at the inner periphery of the cage 3 with the angle alpha in order to be led to a dust collecting box 33.
