Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve noise resistance and an insulating quality, by detecting a load using light through attaching of a strain-detecting optical fiber, deforming corresponding to the deformation of an object to be measured due to a load, and a dummy fiber, being not influenced by the deformation, to the object to be measured. CONSTITUTION:A strain-detectong optical fiber 6 is attached to an object 9 so that it deforms conrresponding to the deformation when it deforms due to an external force F, and meanwhile, a dummy fiber 5 is attached to the object 9 in a condition that it is not influenced by the deformation of the object 9. Laser light, radiated from a laser oscillator 1 is separated via a beam splitter 2, it enters the two fibers 4 and 5, and it is projected on a screen 7 through a jetting ends 6 located parallel to each other. The object 9 to be measured deforms due to the external force F thereupon, and the strain-detecting optical fiber 4 deforms corresponding to the deformation of the object 9 to change length of an optical path, which results in creating an interference fringe on the screen 7. This permits the detection of a load.
