Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the increase in the exciting rush current of a thyristor by utilizing the thyristor at the primary side of a 3-phase transformer and supplying a suitable gate signal to the gate of the thyristor from a timing controlling circuit, thereby preventing the magnetic saturation of the transformer. CONSTITUTION:Two reverse blocking 3-terminal thyristors TH1 TH6 of normal and reverse directions are respectively provided between the respective phases at the primary sides of a 3-phase transformer T. A voltage inducted at the secondary side of the transformer T is rectified by rectifiers D1-D6 and is applied to a load R. Whenever the thyristor is once conducted, six thyristors TH1-TH6 are always sequentially conducted repeatedly as a set in such a manner that the phase is displaced at every 60 deg.. When an electric power is then again supplied after the supply of the electric power is once stopped, six thyristors TH1-TH6 are sequentially conducted repeatedly as one set with the thyristor conducted precedingly in delay by 120 from the thyristor conducted initially in such a manner that the phase is displaced at every 60 deg..
