Abstract

PURPOSE: To control reactive power with excellent respondence by controlling continuity phases of two thyristor control circuits while the mean value of a DC current flowing through a reactor and an input-side active current of the primary winding of a three-phase transformer are kept substantially constant.
CONSTITUTION: Inductive load 4 serving as a filcker generating source like an arc furnace is connected to three-phase power lines 1, 2, 3 and primary winding 5 of a three-phase transformer provided with star-connected secondary windings 6 and 7 by electromagnetic coupling is connected in parallel to the load 4. Windings 6 and 7 are provided with thyristor control rectifying circuits 8 and 9 consisting of six thyristors S1...S6 and S7...S12 each and three-phase bridges, and reactor L is connected in parallel to cascaded circuits 8 and 9. While the mean value of a DC current flowing through reactor L and the input-side reactive current of winding 5 are kept substantially constant, continuity phases of circuits 8 and 9 are controlled. Consequently, reactive power of excellent respondence can be controlled.
