Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently manufacture high purity gallium oxide in large quantities by preoxidizing a mixture of metallic gallium with gallium ozide and oxidizing it at a high temp.
CONSTITUTION: Metallic gallium is melted by heating to the m.p. or above, that is, ≥29.7°C, gallium oxide is added to the molten gallium in 1.5:1 weight ratio, and they are mixed to form a thin metallic gallium layer on the surface of the gallium oxide.
