Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform monitoring surely of an abnormality of shaft voltage and to enhance the reliability of a synchronous brushless machine by a method wherein a voltage between two points of a rotor shaft, a voltage between the rotor shaft and the earth, and a field current are detected to compare and to detect the voltage value and the frequency value of the shaft voltage. CONSTITUTION:Slip rings 13 and brushes 14 for detection are provided at the two points of the rotor shaft 4 of a synchronous brushless machine, and the voltage between the two points is detected with a voltage detector 16. A resistor 15 is inserted between the rotor shaft and the eath, and the voltage is detected with a voltage detector 17. Moreover a series resistor 18 is inserted in the field winding 7 of an AC excitor, and a voltage being proportional to the field current is detected with a voltage detector 19. Detected signals of the respective detectors 16, 17, 19 are inputted into a voltage comparing circuit 20 and a frequency comparing circuit 21 to be compared, and when an abnormality is generated, output is send out from an abnormality detecting circuit 22 to monitor the shaft voltage.
