Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a reliable on-line alarm or cutting signal, by converting an electric signal with excess amplitude among those caused by cutting into a pulse signal and comparing it with the number of reference wave. CONSTITUTION:While machining with drilling machine, a detector 1 for sensing an anomalous load on a main spindle caused by damage of a drill detects vibration due to the cutting and puts a signal with excess amplitude among those output detected in an amplifier 6 as a pulse signal. The signal sent from the amplifier 6 through a filter 7, main amplifier 8, amplitude discriminator 9 and counter 10 to a comparator 11 is counted, compared with the reference wave and discriminated to raise an alarm. This can notive overload during the cutting in the on-line system to detect any damage of a drill.
