CONSTITUTION:The vibration of an internal combustion engine is transduced into an electric signal by an electric signal trnsducing part 1, and an amplitude level at specific frequency is extracted by a specific frequency extraction part 2. A sampling part 3 samples the output of the specific frequency extraction part 2 at constant intervals of time to output sampled values Si successively. A variation amount calculation part 4 sends out the absolute value di=¦Si-Si-1¦ of a difference between the last output Si-1 and new output Si of the sampling part 3.
