PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction due to noise by obtaining only an original signal by passing the output of a sensor, which generates the signal synchronously with the rotation of a crank shaft, through a filter which varies in passing band in accordance with the rotational frequency. CONSTITUTION:The frequency of the output signal of the 1st magnetic pickup 1 is much higher than that of the 2nd magnetic pickup 3. The output terminal of the 1st magnetic pickup 1 is connected to the input terminal of the 1st waveform shaping circuit 2 through a filter 6. The output terminal of the 2nd magnetic pickup 3 is connected to the 2nd waveform shaping circuit 4. A rotation detecting circuit 5 extracts a voltage, which corresponds to a rotational frequency, from the output signal of the 2nd magnetic pickup 3. Then, the cutoff frequency of a high-pass filter 6 is set a little bit lower than the frequency of the signal generated by the 1st magnetic pickup 1, thereby suppressing pulsation due to a noise having a lower frequency than an original signal has.
