Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase an amplification degree while the area of a chip is still small, and to improve frequency characteristics of a differential amplifier of MOSFET constitution by performing cascaded amplification of an input signal through a capacitor for holding a voltage.
CONSTITUTION: Input signals IN1 and IN2 are supplied to the gates of MOSFETs Q1 and Q2 through switches SW1 and SW2. Switches SW1∼SW6 are controlled in two separate periods. In the 1st period, the SW1∼SW4 are turned on and the others are turned off, and in the 2nd period, the SW1∼SW4 are turned off and the others are turned on. For example, a differential amplifier consisting of the MOSFETs Q1 and Q2 has an A-fold amplification degree. In the 1st period, the input signals are amplified by a factor A to charge a capacitor. In the 2nd period, the output signal of the 1st period is amplified by the factor A.
