Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the outer tube and the button stem of a double-tube-structure fluorescent lamp to be rapidly fused, and prevent any oxidation of filaments by inserting electrode parts having the said filaments into the inner tubes after the outer tube and the bottom stem are fused with a high thermal load, and fusing the said electrode parts with a small thermal load. CONSTITUTION:An outer tube 10 is made of glass, and inner tubes 11 are prepared by curving glass tubes into U-shaped form. A spacer 13 integrated with the inner tubes 11 is fixed to a button stem 17 by bending ends of pins 20. Next, the button stem 17 and the outer tube 10 are fused by use of a burner. At this point, the thermal load of the fusion may be large since electrode parts 21, which have a fear of being oxidized, are not yet inserted into the inner tubes 11. After that, the electrode parts 21 are inserted into the inner tubes 11 through fusing tubes 19 and insertion holes 16 of the spacer 13, and the fusing tubes 19 are fused to a glass piece 23 by means of a burner. The thermal load of this fusion may be small to such an extent that filaments 22 are not oxidized.
