Abstract
PURPOSE:To dispense with any synchronizing devices even in a gear changeover system by providing a first input shaft connected to a crankshaft through a first clutch and a second input shaft connected to same through a second clutch. CONSTITUTION:When engine torque is transmitted to a second clutch 7, second input shaft 8, 2-4 selective gear 20 and second speed gear 15 and vehicle speed reaches predetermined value with the second speed during travelling, fluid is supplied to a 1-3 shift cylinder 34 by magnetizing previously a 1-3 shift valve 38 so that a 1-3 selective gear 18 is disengaged from a first speed gear 12 and engages a third speed gear 13 to complete preparation for high speed to the third speed. At this time, a first clutch 4 is disengaged and a first input shaft 5 is not rotated so that the engagement of gears is smoothly carried out. When thereafter the vehicle speed reaches changed speed, the first clutch 4 is engaged to change the speed to the third one.
