Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a small-sized disc brake to be used for a motorcycle etc. by assembling callipers a pair of slide pins fastened to a flat support to be fixed to the fork etc. CONSTITUTION:To the support 3 to be fixed to the fork of a motorcycle, a pair of slide pins 7 are fastened through a screwing on both the right and left sides of the central opening 4 of supprt 3, and callipers g are supported with respect to the slide pin part 7b of said pins 7 through a boot 13 in such a way as slidable in the axial direction of the rotor 2. The callipers 8 are formed into an inverted U-shape in profile so as to lie over the edge of the rotor 2, and one of its legs 9 is provided with a cylinder 10 housing a pad pressing piston 14 while the other leg 15 shall work as reaction part. At the time of brake application, the inner pad 16 is pressed against one of the sides of rotor 2, the reaction force to which will press the reaction part of the callipers 8 to the opposite side of the rotor 2. Thus the brake force is produced.
