Abstract
PURPOSE:To maintain a load current constant with respect to the variation in the voltage of a power source by supplying the power source voltage through a transformer and a resistor to an FET and controlling the gate voltage of the FET. CONSTITUTION:When a power source 1 is in a positive cycle, a current freely flows through an FET9, and an FET6 becomes negative at its gate. Accordingly, the charging current of the capacitor 5 is controlled by the FET6. The gate voltage VGS6 of the FET6 should satisfy the condition of the equation, where R7 represents the resistance value of a variable resistor 7, I6 represents the current which flows through the FET6, and I10 represents the current which flows through a resistor 8 from a transformer 10. When the power source 1 is in negative cycle, the relationship between the FET9 and the FET6 becomes reverse to the above. When the voltage of the power source becomes high, the current I10 increases, the gate voltage of the FET6 becomes high in negative voltage with the result that the ON phase of the thyristor 3 is delayed, thereby reducing the conducting angle of the load current.
