PURPOSE:To prevent the production of a change in size of a base paper due to humidity and heat, by using a paper, having a density of 0.76-1.05g/cm<2>, as a base paper of a heat-sensitive transfer paper. CONSTITUTION:In a heat-sensitive transfer paper, in which thermal fusing ink is applied on a base paper, a paper, having a thickness of 9-25mu, a density of 0.76-1.05, especially 0.76-1.0g/cm<2>, is used as the base paper, and this improves stability on size, being influenced by humidity and heat, of the base paper of the heat-sensitive transfer paper to prevent the production of wrinkles and curl. Compared with a paper of a high density, a paper of a low density of 0.76-1.05g/cm<2> is excellent in stability on size, which is related to a gap size. Or, elongation of a paper, having a low density, is absorbed in a gap to prevent the elongation from propagating, which results in preventing size from increasing. Finally, the thickness of the paper is preferably 9-25mu in terms of thermal energy and mechanical strength.
