PURPOSE:To manufacture the super-strong film, strength thereof in the longitudinal direction is increased, by thermally zone-treating a biaxial drawn film under high tension. CONSTITUTION:One end of the biaxial drawn polyethylene terephthalate film 3 is attached to a holder 4, and the other end is set up to a chuck 5, and load is applied. The film 3 is thermally zone-treated (200 deg.C furnace temperature and 10mm./min. furnace transfer speed) while vertically moving a heating furnace 2 (containing a cooling device). Peculier structure of a high order, elasticity modulus thereof is high both in the longitudinal and lateral directions of the film, is formed, and the super-strong film is manufactured.
