Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce an abrasion resistant material which is easy to weld by mixing super hard alloy particles and Ni solder as matrix at specific ratios in a mild steel vessel, and heating these to melt the Ni solder thereby forming the composite material of the super hard particles and the matrix. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of producing an abrasion resistant material used for cutting blades or the like of construction machinery such as civil engineering machinery, a WC-Co super hard material is packed in the particulate form 1 of 0.1-3mm. sizes together with Ni solder 2 for matrix formation to 50-60% volume ratios. These are put in a vacuum heating furnace 4 and are heated with heaters 5 to melt the Ni solder of the matrix, whereby the abrasion resistant composite material consisting of the particles 1 and the Ni matrix 2 is formed in the vessel 3. Since the outside circumferential part is formed of the mild steel, this is welded easily to cutting blades of civil engineering machinery.
