Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve efficient monitoring of deterioration in material by enabling measuring of the hardness in a center hole during the manufacture and the operation of a turbine rotor or the like from the displacement of a pressure element pressed against the inner surface of the center hole as determined once drawn externally. CONSTITUTION:The body 2 of a hardness gauge is made a cylinder with an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of a hole 1a to be measured of the center of a turbine rotor. A cylinder hole 3 is provided in one direction diameterwise and a stator 4 is inserted into the hole 3 in such a manner as to be extended outward hydraulically. A cylinder hole 5 is arranged on the opposite side of the hole 3 and a pressure element 6 having a 1/16 inch steel ball at the tip thereof is inserted therethrough in such a manner as to be protruded from a piping 5a. The displacement of the pressure element 6 when pressed against the inner surface of the center hole 1a is provided to a measuring device by way of a working rod 8 and a working transformer 9 to measure.
