Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase flexibility of a seal and improve its sealing characteristic, by providing at least two sloped surfaces in the sectional half part of an annular body in the oil seal further providing many grooves continuing radially in said sloped surfaces. CONSTITUTION:An oil seal 3 consists of a metallic annular body 4 and high molecular material 5 integrally formed with said annular body. Sloped surfaces 6, 7, 8 are provided in a sectional half part of the annular body 4, and radially continuous many grooves 9 are provided in said sloped surfaces. As a result, the sloped surface of the annular body 4 performs spring action of high flexibility, and the high molecular material in the grooved part also performs spring action.
