Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of surface roughening and deep drawing earing by hot rolling an Al alloy cast ingot contg. specific amts. of Fe, Si, Cu, Ti then subjecting the same to flame plate annealing under specific conditions and cold rolling the same at drafts above specific values.
CONSTITUTION: An Al alloy cast iron contg., by weight %, 0.3W1.5 Fe, 0.3W 1.5 Si, 0.3W1 Cu, and <0.1 Ti is subjected to flame plate annealing for 30min at 250W450°C after hot rolling. The deposition of Si is accelerated and fine crystal grains are formed by this flame plate annealing. Thence, it is cold rolled at ≥50% drafts. It the Al alloy cast ingot is subjected to a homogenization heat treatment for ≥1hr at 450W535°C prior to said hot rolling, it is more effective for increased strength of the final plate, formation of finer crystal grains and improved deep drawability.
