EXAMPLE: α-Ethoxycarbonyl-α-(3-fluoro-4-nitrophenyl)propionic acid ethyl ester.
USE: A raw material for α-(2-fluoro-4-biphenylyl) acetic acid, etc, having anti- inflammatory and analgesic actions.
