Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress the rigidity of a base and a top link to the minimum and make facilities compact, by a method wherein a mold device for a tire vulcanizer comprising upper and lower molds being openable is provided with an opening device and a pressure applying device, both being independent of each other. CONSTITUTION:A mold pressure applying device 30 are arranged equally on diagonal positions outside a dome 28 installed around a lower mold 7 and independent of a mold opening device. Hydraulic pressure from a cylinder port 28 of the pressure applying device 30 engages an engaging member 48 to a member 31 to be engaged thereby the dome 28 is pushed. Since the dome 28 is integral with a top link and an upper mold is provided at lower surface of the link, the upper mold is engaged with the lower mold and then pressure is applied. After finishing the pressure application, if hydraulic pressure is worked from a port 39 and a piston 37 is raised, a pressure applying rod 47 is raised against a spring 51 in co-operation of a guide body 49 and a guide member 53. If hydraulic pressure is further applied, a rod 47 is elongated and slantly moved about a pin 47 as fulcrum in separating direction and pressure by the pressure applying device 30 is released.
