Abstract

PURPOSE: The induction heater surrounding the substrate to be heated through the insulation layer convering the substrate is provided with a gas collector leading the gas evolved inside toward the outside, thus prolonging the life, increasing the reliablility and improving the working environment of the heater.
CONSTITUTION: For example, when the substrate of calcined carbon material is graphitized, an insulation layer 3 is provided between the substrate 1 and material 31. A plurality of refractory insulation materials 7 are arranged at a certain interval vertically and along the periphery between the refractory bricks forming the inner surface of the induction coil for heating the substrate 1 and the insulation material 31 of refractory cement. The gas collectors of referactory tubes are set between insulation materials 7 and inside the insulation material 31 at a certain interval in the pheripheral direction and these tubes are connected to the outlet 10 leading the gas outside. The gas evolved during heating 6 is received in the collectors 8, 9 and readily flows through the outlet 10 to the outside.
