CONSTITUTION:A toner treated with a preclean corotron PCC3 is cleaned with a magnetic brush 4. At this time, a voltage obtd. by superposing AC on DC is applied as magnetic brush roll bias VCL. The toner stuck to the brush 4 is recovered with a toner recovering roll 6 having an applied high voltage. Thus, the extent of electrification of a toner is extended, the cleanable range is made wider, and the cleaning effect can be increased remarkably.
