CONSTITUTION:A reproducing stylus is made of a prismatic insulating body 1 and a beltlike electrode 2 provided at one circumferential corner part, and an insulating film is adhered to the entire external surface of the electrode except the opposing surface for a disk 3. Then, the reproducing stylus is moved relatively while the tip surface of the reproducing stylus is brought into contact with the surface of the disk 3 where digital information is recorded by pits 4, thus reproducing the information by picking up the states of the pits 4 as electrostatic variation. Therefore, even if conductive dust such as a peeled piece of the disk 3 sticks atop of the reproducing stylus, the surface is separated from the electrode 2 electrically completely, so excellent reproduction characteristics are obtained without exerting any influence upon the electrical area of the electrode.
