Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a valve seat to be firmly fixed in a mounting hole by expanding a cylindrical valve seat having an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of a valve seat mounting hole after it is fitted in the mounting hole. CONSTITUTION:A valve seat 13 fitted in a valve seat mounting hole 12 is cylindrical and has an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the mounting hole 12. The valve seat 13 is fitted in the mounting hole 12, before the fixing of the valve seat 13 in the mounting hole 12, so that the upper and lower end parts of the valve seat 13 are projected from both ends of the mounting hole 12, respectively. Then, the inner diameter of the valve seat 13 is expanded by moving an expander introduced into the valve seat, downward while the expander is rotated. Accordingly, the outer peripheral surface of the valve seat 13 bites into the inner peripheral part of the mounting hole, thereby the valve seat may be firmly fixed.
