Abstract

PURPOSE: To make stepwise agitating and mixing possible under optimum agitating forces with one flocculating tank and one agitator by partitioning the inside of the tank to an inside circumferential chamber and an outside circumferential chamber with a concentrical partition cylindrical wall, and using the inside circumferential chamber as a quick agitating part and the outside circumferential chamber as a slow agitating chamber.
CONSTITUTION: A quick agitator 6 is provided in an inside circumferential chamber 3 to use this chamber as a quick agitating chamber, where a cationic flocculating agent is mixed with sludge under quick agitation. At the same time, the sludge emerging out into an ouside circumferential chamber 4 through the spacing 5 at the bottom end is slowly agitated by the agitating energy in the chamber 3 transmitted through the spacing 5. Hence, if an anionic flocculating agent is injected with a chemical feeder 9 from a tank bottom 1 or the lower part of the side wall of the reaction tank, the flocculating agent is mixed with the sludge in the chamber 4 and these react with each other. Since it is possible to increase agitating forces in the chamber 4 by moving a partition cylindrical wall 2 upward to widen the spacing 5 and to decrease the same conversely by moving the wall downward to narrow the spacing, the agitating forces are determined at the optimum forces by moving the partition cylindrical wall upward or downward.
