Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a size measuring device which has a high resolution, a high precision, and a rapid measuring time, by constituting a device such that two reflecting optical systems are placed appropriately to selectively reflect only a projection image of a given range containing edge parts at opposite ends of an object to be measured to form the image on an image sensor. CONSTITUTION:Light, brought into parallel by a lens 2, is projected to an object 3a to be measured, lights, transmitting in the proximity of the opposite ends of the object 3a to be measured, are selectively reflected by reflection mirrors 11 and 12 to form the image on an image sensor 5 by means of a collecting lens 4. The light image is formed into a picture according to a clock signal from a clock device circuit 13, the output is compared with a slice level, previously set by a comparison circuit 15, via an amplifying circuit 15, and a size is computed by a computing circuit 7 through a monomulti 16 to display the result in an indicator 8. A device is constituted such that only light in a region of D containing each edge of an object with a diameter of 2D is detected and measured, and this causes obtaining of an inexpensive size measuring device which has a high resolution, a high precision, and a quick measuring time.
