Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a printer capable of giving a longer printed material than the circumferential dimension of a plate cylinder by combining existing printers having small-diameter plate cylinders without the use of large-diameter plate cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A cam folloer 10 is provided at the shaft end of an impression cylinder 2 capable of giving a necessary printing pressure to a plate cylinder 1, the cam follower 10 is pushed up by the cam 9 of a plate cylinder shaft 1a, and the impression cylinder 2 is separated from the plate cylinder 1. Such printers Pa, Pb, Pa1, and Pb1 are aligned in one row and operated under a mutually related condition by means of a coupling device 12. A sheet S to be printed is first printed A by the printer Pa, and then printed B by the printer Pb in a manner that the cam 9 works but the printer Pa does not work when the plate cylinder turns next one round.
